Operations Manager

Express Employment Professionals has an excellent temp to hire opportunity for an Operations Manager in the Hagerstown area. Pay is $50,000-$60,000 to start. Schedule is M-F 7am-5pm.





Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

A. Warehouse Management


1. Assigning warehouse duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and


conformance to policies and procedures.


2. Advising employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped;


methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and


related problems.


3. Planning layout of warehouse, and other storage areas, considering turnover, size,


weight, and related factors of items stored.


4. Inspects physical condition of warehouse, seeing that it is kept clean and orderly with


aisles clear when possible.


5. Employ and carry out new ideas and improvements to help make the warehouse run


smoothly and more efficiently.


6. Assisting warehouse workers to fill glass, hollow metal, window, and Overhead door


orders for customer pick-up, delivery, or installation by our crew or a subcontractor.


Helping crew members gather needed materials for the day?s job.


7. Provide coverage for warehouse employees if they are absent from work (cutting glass,


working in hollow metal, deliveries if necessary, receiving freight, computer related duties,


etc.) by personally filling in for the job or finding a suitable replacement.


8. Work with store clerk employees to meet needs of our walk-in customers, both


residential and commercial, picking up material as well as helping them locate parts and


hardware as needed.


9. Work with our salesmen to complete all orders in a timely manner to meet the needs of


our customers.


10. Assist with loading and unloading of trucks.


11. Supervising vehicle maintenance and seeing that repairs are completed in a timely


manner.


12. Participates in company safety program enforcing safety and conducting safety


meetings.


B. Distribution Management


1. Establish and supervise operational procedures for activities such as verification of


incoming and outgoing shipments; and disposition of materials.


2. Direct and/or perform the ?staging? of both stock and non-stock materials in the


warehouse.


3. Responsible for reviewing purchase orders and filing them in proper locations.


4. Supervising and working closely with our receiving entry department to monitor


accuracy and timeliness; and trouble shoot problems that may arise.


5. Responsible for reconciling any damage or fright claims on received goods and aiding


with the reconciliation of vendor invoices against receipts.


6. Maintain goal of keeping warehouse inventory current.


7. Coordinating the transfer of stock & non-stock material to the satellite offices upon


request. Assists and maintains a positive working environment with the remote warehouses


from the perspective of a ?central? warehouse.


8. Coordinate with vendors and freight companies on delivery of materials.


9. Supervising delivery driver and scheduling all deliveries, making phone calls to


customers when necessary, and informing our estimators of upcoming delivery schedule.C. Inventory Control & Replenishment


1. Determine needed materials to be ordered for stock, as well as supplies for the crews,


entering suggested purchase orders into the computer system and working directly with the


Purchasing Agent.


2. Acquire an understanding for utilizing and reviewing the computer generated


Replenishment Report as an aide for determining when, what & how much stock to order


on a weekly basis, and perform as directed.


3. Conducts weekly cycle counts on items to maintain veracity of inventory levels.


4. Examining history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory


and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.


5. Identifying and directs salvage (if necessary) of non-usable, slow moving, dead and/or


surplus stock.


6. Participates in the decision making process of adding new items to our stock inventory


as well as determining a proper location for storage.


7. Lead the warehouse during our annual Physical Count.




Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
